Biometric Techniques – Enhancing Security Standards In High Performance Enterprise
This paper presents a study of the Biometric techniques and its scope in the identification and verification of individuals. Biometric technique emerges as new tool in today’s business world, to overcome the shortcomings of traditional security measures. The biometric techniques are emerging as key force in addressing the security problems in an effective manner. Various biometric authentication techniques have proven to be effective means of detecting fraud. In this study we examine the two categories of biometric techniques like physiological, which measure the physiological characteristics of a person which include fingerprint verification, Eye analysis, facial recognition, hand geometry, ear recognition etc. The behavioral based techniques, which measure the behavior of a person like handwritten signature verification, keystroke analysis and speech analysis. The basic objective is to know the different type of biometric techniques, how biometric techniques works, its need in industry and how to evaluate biometric techniques.
