What is Cobol? Understanding the Common Business Oriented Language
COBOL Common Business Oriented means the Language and is a very popular language used to further the economic and administrative systems in different organizations. COBOL was the first group of three state agencies and six computer manufacturers in the United States. COBOL is used because of the late fifties and is still in development, because of its popularity among users.
The next 10 years according to the definition of COBOL, several versions of COBOL in the market from different manufacturers and software compatibility of these versions of the problem was submitted. American National Standards Institute (ANSI) joined the COBOL standard model introduced in 1968 and is regularly released more versions of the following standards.
COBOL was constructed largely on the business activities of natural language COBOL programming is adopted. Shortly before 2000, the euro, it was estimated that approximately 80% of companies in the world ran in COBOL – a factor which resulted in a huge effort to ensure that these systems are compatible with the year 2000. These efforts began, as most companies functions previously indexed data and COBOL with a two-digit date field that needed to change the four-digit one place in the new millennium.
