nanotechnology study

Nanotechnology is known as a field of science and a technology. It can be identify as the exit of sciences into the nanoscale, or utilizing the science into modern ways, the movements of nanotechnologies approach from rehabilitated awareness in science. Nanotechnologies has two major approaches equipment and procedure which make themselves from molecular components, and to accumulate chemically by distinguishing molecular values.

The study of the materials used in formation of nanotechnologies is known as a nanomaterials. The distinctive possessions of nonmaterial formation on the nanometer scale has flicker the awareness of resources. The manufacturing of materials through its products such as plastics filler, coating, and protection from the sun rays in cosmetics, moreover the expertise seize to undertake more for the prospect to both product and on markets.

Nanotechnologies play an important role in almost every industry some of them include medicines, electronics, plastics, etc. it is simple that make in allowance of advance in various purpose.

The science and engineering departments traces back to the pasts of 1864, the governments affords an occasion for the educational students to research the materials, further the achievements is based on the advances in the science and technologies allowing the new developments in technologies and achieves the progress into research field with its relationship through industry.

concerns of sirius and xm listeners

By now everybody knows about the Sirius and XM merger, first announced on February 19, 2007. The merger press conference stated that the unified service would offer more channel capacity and more premium services. As for the business operations? Both companies will continue to operate as separate services for the next 15 years. As it stands now, both networks actually use different compression and conditional access systems, making the receivers incompatible with each other. While a unified receiver is available, this would be an additional purchase to regular XM and Sirius brands.

Now that these networks are not directly competing against each other, their primary competition is with free services. Some listeners may wonder, will this merger slow down the adoption of satellite radio? Executives have stated that they are aware of the possibility and are not planning to increase the subscriber price. Instead, they wish to profit by introducing new services like video, navigation and advertising.

Has there been any opposition to the merger? There was some concern coming from the National Association of Broadcasters and the Consumer Coalition for Competition in Satellite Radio, who speculated that the merger might create a monopoly. These concerns were directed in various ways but most with an eye as to consumer cost. If Sirius and XM combine (which they likely will, as a press conference would officially verify in a few months) then since they would now be the only providers of satellite radio, this merged company could raise the subscription price, leaving loyal radio fans little choice but to pay extra. However, Sirius assured radio fans that there is still competition, namely from terrestrial radio, Internet radio and portable media players. Sirius has even gone so far as to promise to fix prices to abate the concerns of consumers.

One more concern is in programming. Both networks have major star power behind them: some of the top names penning deals with both providers include Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, Howard Stern and Bob Dylan. Additionally, there is exclusive sports programming on both networks. The companies are hoping to lower costs of production by merging. Some have wondered if this means that the reduced production cost would result in less overall programming. However, this theory is contrary to the fact that it’s likely both companies will keep non-duplicate channels, so even more programming will be needed so each company can have a full schedule. Besides, both networks have shown a strong interest in developing new product-new technology in fact.

Reviewing Robotic Systems Used in Surgery

Despite costing $1.5 million per unit, the Da Vinci robotic system is turning heads in hospitals across America. The addition of robotic systems in operating rooms promises more precise surgeries, less damage to the surrounding tissues, smaller incisions, less blood loss, less risk of surgeon fatigue and quicker recovery times. While intelligent robots are far from executing their own surgeries, using autonomous robots and robotic arms as assistants is revolutionizing medical science.

The Da Vinci Surgical System is a groundbreaking innovation that’s garnered much attention by media and surgeons alike over the past decade. Ideally, these new robots will be used in delicate surgeries like heart valve/artery surgery, brain surgery and cancer removal. Telesurgical robotic systems consist of two components; one is a computerized tele-micromanipulator, the other a surgical unit containing three robotic arms.

At the start of the surgery, four keyhole-sized incisions are made as entry-points. Down one incision will be the endoscopic camera, which is attached to a fiber-optic cable. The remaining ports will carry tiny surgical tools, which rotate and maneuver using flexible robot wrists. The surgeon sits at a console, watching the 3-D images from the camera and making the necessary motions to perform the surgery, which the robotic system then mimics with much more precision and accuracy.

Supervisory-Controlled robotic systems work autonomously once they’re programmed with set instructions by a trained surgeon. Surgeons then watch over the autonomous robots to make sure there are no surprises. RoboDoc, developed by Integrated Surgical Systems, is one of these Supervisory-Controlled systems, and it has been used in countless knee surgeries and hip replacement surgeries. Since 400,000 people require knee surgeries each year, this type of procedure can benefit a large number of patients by being far less painful and allowing for quicker recovery times.

learn basic computer skills fast

We all use computers in our every day activities. So many people these days use computers more often than using regular papers especially in offices. Due to the ways computers help so many people to be more efficient and effective, so many people now prefer to use computers more regularly than before. Keeping track records, doing more calculations, data processing, composing and even chatting are just few of the main reasons while most people these days prefer to use there computers more often than using normal paper works especially in most offices.

In our present life, every one must have some basic knowledge about computer. But if there is someone who is unable to operate a computer, then he can take part in basic computer learning programs easily which are accessible online and offline. Individuals who are unable to attend regular classes at some college or school, can benefit from the Internet or some offline computer learning programs. Some aged people feel embarrassed in joining classes at schools or colleges with young students so they want to master their course at home.

It is not hard to start your basic computer skills learning, because it is very simple to learn and master. There are many issues that one should keep in mind while selecting a useful source for him or her to obtaining basic computer skills. In the process of basic computer learning from home all the lessons or lectures should be in video format, because it would leave a strong impact on the learner. And the person who is delivering the lecture should be experienced and should teach in simple and easy language. The teacher should not be seen as speaking computer himself.

The teachers’ system of teaching should be interesting and simple to follow because it will create interest of the learner in learning basic computer skills faster. The knowledge of the teacher should be perfect and good because if he don’t have complete knowledge of computer himself, then it would be tough to handle students who are totally strange with computers. There should not be any kind of pressure on the students, as this can frustrate the students. The learning environs should be good and there should be some good materials to practice with or little interesting assignments for the students.

UTC – A Global Timescale

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC from the French Temps Universel Coordonné) is an international timescale based on the time told by atomic clocks. Atomic clocks are accurate to within a second in several million years. They are so accurate that International Atomic Time, the time relayed by these devices, is even more accurate than the spin of the Earth.

The Earth’s rotation is affected by the gravity of the moon and can therefore slow or speed up. For this reason, International Atomic Time (TAI from the French Temps Atomique International) has to have ‘Leap seconds’ added to keep it in line with the original timescale GMT (Greenwich meantime) also referred to as UT1, which is based on solar time.

This new timescale known as UTC is now used all over the world allowing computer networks and communications to be conducted at opposite sides of the globe.

UTC is governed not by an individual country or administration but a collaboration of atomic clocks all over the world which ensures political neutrality and also added accuracy.

UTC is transmitted in numerous ways across the globe and is utilised by computer networks, airlines and satellites to ensure accurate synchronisation no matter what the location on the Earth.

In the USA NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) broadcast UTC from their atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado. The National Physics Laboratories of the UK and Germany have similar systems in Europe.

The internet is also another source of UTC time. Over a thousand time servers across the web can be used to receive a UTC time source, although many are not precise enough for most networking needs.
