ABAP – Advanced Business Application Programming
ABAP stands for Allgemeiner Bericht-Aufbereitungs-Prozess. I know it’s kind of difficult to understand. In actual English word is’s called Advance Business Application Programming. So what is this is SAP ABAP?
ABAP program running on the Application Server, either provided by SAP applications and those that develop on their own. ABAP programs read data from the database, data processing, and possibly storing data.
The user need not know the exact extent of the ABAP program on the application server. For the average user is the SAP system as a ‘Black Box’.
When the user performs a user action, such as by selecting the Set and a function button, a menu function or a button, control passes from the presentation server to application server. Only parts of the ABAP program will be developed. If a user further dialog box is activated in the ABAP program, the system transmits the screen and control is again sent to the Presentation Server.
