A mercury battery is known as the most non rechargeable electrochemical battery which is also called as the primary cell. There are some other names of the mercury battery such as mercuric oxide battery and mercury cell. Due to the substance of mercury, and the consequential ecological trepidations, the rummage sale of the mercury batteries has been banned in several countries of the world.
