The Tale OF Two Radio Deals

The two big stories in radio this week were the DOJ approval of the merger of XM-Sirius Satellite radio companies and the collapse of the 26+ billion dollar deal for Clear Channel to become a private company. The government has determined that merging the two satellite companies would not constitute a monopoly since there are so many audio entertainment devices for consumers to purchase. The total audience for the combined companies is now about 18 million subscribers.
